We are looking for a highly talented, motivated, and experienced person to work with us on XDefiant, a new multiplatform online multiplayer action game based in our San Francisco studio. XDefiant is a free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter that combines intense combat with personalized loadouts and specialized factions, as teams battle for domination.
It will include a revamped set of battle options, new Combat Arts, a Formation command not seen in previous entries, and a slew of features set to bring the classic Fire Emblem combat into the future. For series fans and newcomers alike, it's an exciting new entry that fans can finally enjoy on the Switch, which means better graphics and expanded gameplay from what the Nintendo 3DS could provide.
It's them against the fascists that threaten global domination, and you'll have to fight your way through a Nazi-infused vision of the '80s to find their father and set things right. It won't be easy, but on the bright side, you get to punch Nazis.
Multiplayer combat comes in six flavors in Battlefield 1's retail version, and the game's nine maps at launch include variants for each of the modes. The game's longtime standard mode, Conquest, continues to pit teams of 32 soldiers against each other as they battle to control up to seven points on the map. Domination offers the same kind of gameplay, but it shrinks the map size, number of soldiers per team (down to 12-on-12), and number of control points. The latter is a solid stab at "quicker Battlefield" combat, and while it doesn't feel as intense as straight-up Conquest, it's certainly superior to the vanilla Team Deathmatch mode on offer here.
The last two modes on offer, Rush and Operations, revolve around asymmetrical combat. One team is the attacker, and the other is the defender. In Rush, the attackers have a limited amount of time and respawns to advance on the defenders' turf and claim their control points. This plays out in multiple stages on the map, and attackers can't move forward on the map until every point in a wave (usually 2-3 points) is overtaken. Meaning that if the attackers claim point A and move on to point B, the defenders can reclaim point B to prevent the attackers' progress. 041b061a72
